The Ride or Die Makeup Tag | Jaclyn Hill

Recently, Jaclyn Hill created a tag video on her Youtube channel called Ride Or Die Makeup Tag. As the title describes, the tag is all about your favourite , must-haves, can't live without makeup products. Here are my Ride or Dies!

FACE PRIMER:

Benefit POREfessional - This is my fav primer because it really does make my makeup last longer, and it's great at filling in my pores! It gives me a matte look on my skin which I love!

FOUNDATION:

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Stromboli - This is the perfect colour for my skin tone. I love the dewy finish this foundation gives me and I like the fact that it's medium to full coverage too! If you've had trouble finding your colour in foundations, I highly recommend you take a look at this range!

CONCEALER:

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer -This is a full coverage concealer and it has quite a thick consistency. This has sort of a dewy finish, it covers dark circles beautifully and it gives a radiant look to it.

OR

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - I use this for my under eye highlight. I feel like this is the perfect one for my dark circles around my eyes too because it doesn't crease as much, and isn't cakey!

FACE POWDER:

Chanel Vitalumiere Loose Powder - This powder gives me extra coverage, once I apply it over my base and sets my makeup so well. I use it with a huge fluffy face brush!

UNDER EYE SETTING POWDER:

Makeup Forever HD Translucent Powder - I like this for the under eyes because it gives a good finish, it lasts long and it isn't cakey at all. I use this with the Real Techniques Setting Brush and dab it under my eyes once my concealer is applied.

BLUSH:

Benefit Rockateur - I literally wear this every day in my makeup routine. It's the perfect blush tone for my skin tone because it looks very natural and the best for the 'no makeup' makeup look.

BRONZER:

Benefit Hoola Bronzer - Duh, this is my all time favourite bronzer. I use this product to bronze and contour dem cheekbones every single day. Always gotta be on fleek!!

HIGHLIGHT:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glowkit in That Glow - I have to have a good highlight to finish off a good makeup look! I feel incomplete without glowy cheekbones. This highlight palette is in my everyday makeup routine and gives the most amazing highlight ever!

MASCARA:

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara - You guys know I love this mascara. I mentioned most of these makeup products before in previous blog posts. But this mascara just makes my lashes pop and make them look super long.

LIPSTICK:

Mac Lipstick in Brave - This colour from Mac is my all time favourite and I've already been through 2 lipstick tubes already!

LIQUID LIPSTICK:

Kylie Cosmetics Lipkit in Candy K - This lipstick is not drying, and it feels really light on my lips. Not many liquid lippies do this. Well done Kylie!!

GLOSS:

Kylie Cosmetics Gloss in 'Like" - I like this gloss because it isn't sticky at all! The shine from the gloss lasts super long and this colour is the perfect nude gloss for everyday wear.

LASHES:

Huda Beauty Lashes in Samantha - I don't wear lashes often, but when I do, it has got to be these babies! I own 3 pairs of these Samantha lashes because they're literally to die for. These lashes are not too dramatic for me which is perfect.

EYESHADOW PALETTE:

Morphs 35O - I use this palette in my everyday makeup because of all the brown, warm shades here. They're my favourite eyeshadow colours and just go so well with an everyday natural look. I love it because they'e highly pigmented and the glitters are so creamy and easy to apply!!

SETTING SPRAY:

Mac Fix + - This gives me a dewy finish once my base is applied. I also like to spray it on before I apply foundation too! It can act as a primer as well. I've literally been through 3 bottles of this.

And that is it for my Ride or Die Makeup Tag! You can view Jaclyn Hill's video below, where she explains her must-have makeup products! See you soon on Girls in Grey!

The Switch Beauty Sphere Brush Set

When I received these in the mail, I was super excited and immediately tried them out the same day!  Even though I still love my regular fluffy make brushes, I'm still really obsessed with these oval ones.

So in this brush set, you will get 5 oval brushes, 3 linear brushes and 2 small, circular brushes. My favourite is the biggest brush in this set because I use it everyday for foundation and it blends the product like a dream!! Not a lot of product is needed because of the size and how it spreads evenly across the face.

The set includes (Biggest to smallest) :

- Swiitch Beauty Sphere 10 which can be used as a powder brush, but I use this to apply my foundation because it blends it really well. I dot the product on my face and buff in circular motions.

- Swiitch Beauty Sphere 9 which can be used to blend your cream contour and foundation. I really love this brush to buff out the contour because of the big size. It leaves the contour looking very subtle and natural whereas if you use any smaller brush, it will still look like a distinct line down your cheek.

- Swiitch Beauty Sphere 8 can apply foundation or concealer to the smaller parts of your face. If you have dark circles or other areas that need extra coverage, this brush is perfect and does the job well. Just dot the product on your skin and buff out with the Sphere 8.

- Swiitch Beauty Sphere 7 makes the perfect concealer brush. Not gonna lie, but this is my fav concealer brush that I use.

- Swiitch Beauty Sphere 6 Another brush that is perfect to blend concealer on parts of your face that need more coverage.

- Swiitch Beauty Linear 5 This is perfect to contour your nose and to draw the contour lines down  your cheekbones also and blend it in with a bigger brush mentioned above.

- Swiitch Beauty Linear 4 can be used for applying eyebrow products. This is not my favourite way to apply eyebrow products but this does the job. I think it is best to find an eyeshadow that matches your eyebrow shade and and apply it by stroking it in the direction of your eyebrow hairs for a more natural look. Set with a brow gel after.

- Swiitch Beauty Linear 3 which can be used for applying a gel eyeliner. This brush is the smallest in the linear category which makes it easy for someone to glide on gel liner on their eyelid. It also makes life so much easier when it comes to creating a wing. Measure the end of your eye with the end of your eyebrow and apply in that direction.

- Swiitch Beauty Circle 2 can apply lip products and eyeshadows. Personally, I don't like applying eyeshadows with these brushes. It creates too much fallout under the eye and doesn't show the pigment of the eyeshadow very well. I prefer using my old-school eyeshadow brushes.

- Swiitch Beauty Circle 1 which can be used to dot the contour and highlight and blend eyeshadows. Again, not a fan of the blending eyeshadows with an oval brush part, but I guess that's just me!

Today, August 1 is the day Swiitch Beauty start releasing a new product everyday for the next 2 weeks. How exciting!! A few of their new products include a BubbleYum Lip Scrub, some eyeshadows, face masks, and lip enhancers.
